A picturesque hiking trail runs from San Marco di Castellabate to nature reserve Punta Licosa. Along this trail and right above the sea lies Villino dell’Artista. Its windows and terrace open upon a great view of the sea. From the premises, a stepped path runs down to a small bathing bay.

Es ist nur ein recht unscheinbarer Wanderweg, der sich von San Marcos Hafen bis zur Punta Licosa durch die immergrüne Vegetation des Cilento zieht. Doch nach wenigen hundert Metern lichtet sich das dichte Blätterwerk und eröffnet dem Betrachter einen atemberaubenden Ausblick auf das tiefe Blau des Mittelmeeres. In der Ferne thront goldbraun der mittelalterliche Ort Castellabate auf einer Hügelspitze; zu seinen Füßen entfaltet sich das pittoreske Hafenstädtchen San Marco di Castellabate.

Die Räume des Hauses sind groß, hell und versprühen Luftigkeit und Eleganz. Das Wohn-/Esszimmer beansprucht den größten Teil des Hauses. Von hier gelangen Sie in die moderne Küche sowie in das angrenzende Doppelschlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad. Hinter diesem Schlafzimmer befindet sich ein weiteres Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und Bad. Im Wohnzimmer gibt es einen Kamin, auch wenn Sie an kalten Tagen einfach die Zentralheizung anschalten können.
Über die großen Glasschiebetüren gelangen Sie sowohl vom Wohnzimmer als auch von beiden Schlafzimmern aus auf die ausgedehnte Terrasse.

HERRLICHER AUSSENBEREICH – Die einmalig schöne Sitzecke mit marokkanischen Wandfliesen liegt geschützt und überdacht am Eingang des Hauses. Zwei Sonnenliegen laden Sie ein, sich dem süßen Nichtstun unter der süditalienischen Sonne hinzugeben. Von der Terrasse aus führt eine kleine Treppe hinab zu Ihrer privaten Badebucht, in die sich im Sommer höchstens mal ein paar Taucher verirren.
Ihr Auto können Sie auf dem umzäunten Grundstück abstellen.

WEITERE INFORMATIONEN & AUSFLUGSTIPPS
Das malerische Fischerdorf San Marco di Castellabate mit Bars, Restaurants und Geschäften erreichen Sie nach etwa 500 m fußläufig. Zum Baden müssen Sie nur die 80 Stufen von Ihrer Terrasse aus hinabsteigen.

Sie sollten unbedingt dem Wanderweg vor Ihrer Haustür weiter folgen, denn der führt Sie geradewegs zum Kap der Sirenen, dem westlichsten Punkt der Cilento-Küste. An dieser Stelle endet der Golf von Salerno. Ihm vorgelagert befindet sich ein flaches Eiland, die Isola di Licosa. Der Legende nach stürzte sich die Sirene Leucosia, betrübt darüber, dass Odysseus ihrem betörenden Gesang durch einen listigen Trick widerstand, hier in die Fluten.

Unbedingt einen Ausflug wert ist das mittelalterliche Bergdorf Castellabate. Hier scheint die Zeit stehen geblieben: schmale Gassen, pittoreske Plätze, geheimnisumwitterte Hinterhöfe und verwunschene Gärten prägen das Bild.

It seems rather inconspicuous, the hiking trail which runs from San Marco's harbor through the Cilento’s evergreen vegetation to Punta Licosa. After only a few hundred meters, however, the dense foliage opens upon a breathtaking view of the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea. In the distance, bathed in golden brown, medieval Castellabate sits enthroned on a hilltop; sprawling at its feet, lies picturesque, small San Marco di Castellabate.

SPECTACULAR SEA VIEW
It is in this wonderful place right by the sea that you find Villino dell’Artista. With a quarry stone façade typical for the region, it blends into the landscape rather unspectacularly, at first sight; however, the row of large windows/French doors running the length of the house and due to which you have got a spectacular view of the sea from every room makes for a sophisticated touch. Tasteful, expressive paintings and furnishing which unites elegance and comfort top off this impression. Oriental ceramic tiles on the terrace add a mystic touch.

Somewhat apart from town, surrounded by sea and nature, you can enjoy relaxing, care-free holidays at Villino dell’Artista.

THIS HOUSE PER SE IS A WORK OF ART!
The rooms of the holiday home are large, bright and radiate an airy and elegant atmosphere. The living-/dining room takes up a large part of the house. From there, you enter the modern kitchen (incl. 4-burner gas stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher) as well as a double bedroom with en suite bathroom. Behind this double lies another double bedroom with en suite bathroom.
In the living room as well as the two bedrooms, large glass sliding doors open onto the spacious terrace.

Furnishing of Villino dell’Artista also includes WiFi, air conditioning (extra charge in case of use) and washing machine. On cool days, you can light a fire in the fireplace or turn on the central heating (extra charge in case of use).

WONDERFUL OUTDOOR AREA – The gorgeous, roofed seating area with Moroccan wall tiles lies sheltered near the entrance to the house.
Also at your disposal in the outdoor area: two loungers to enjoy dolce far niente under the southern Italian sun, an outdoor shower and a grill.
From the terrace, stairs run down to your private bathing bay; in summer, only a few divers might 'drift off' and into the bay.
Parking is available on the fenced premises.

FURTHER INFORMATION & TIPS FOR EXCURSIONS
The center of the picturesque fishing village of San Marco di Castellabate with bars, restaurants and stores is a short walk (ca. 500 m) from Villino dell'Artista. To go for a swim in the sea, you need only descend the 80 steps from the villino's terrace to the bay.

The hiking trail 'at your doorstep' takes you straight to the Cape of Sirens, the westernmost point of the Cilento coast. That is where the Gulf of Salerno ends and where you find the offshore island of Isola di Licosa. Legend has it that Siren Leucosia, despaired at having failed to enchant Odysseus with her songs, threw herself into the sea there and drowned.

Do stop by the medieval mountain village of Castellabate, where time seems to have stood still: narrow alleys, picturesque squares, back courtyards with a touch of mystery and enchanted gardens mark the villagescape.
