If you are considering a holiday in the warmth of the Andalusian sun but are worried about the crowds and bustle of the Costa del Sol, Casa Guadiaro would be the answer.
Casa Guadiaro is situated in the quaintly typical white Andalusian village of El Colmenar, Estacion de Gaucin, within the boundary of “Los Alcornocales” National Park in the mountains of Ronda.
The property offers well-appointed ground floor accommodation for up to 5 persons with a large private swimming pool, terrace, garden and barbecue facilities. Free WIFI available. Free off-road parking is available. The nearest airports are Gibraltar (40 miles) and Malaga (85 miles). Transport to and from the airport can be arranged.
The property is within 5 minutes’ walk of the 3 local restaurants offering an extensive menu using local produce at very reasonable prices. The train station is a short walk away and one can visit the Moorish cities of Ronda (1 hr), Antequera (2,5 hrs), Granada (4,5 hrs) and also Gibraltar (1,5 hr by train and bus) and the port of Algeciras. A half hourly ferry service is available throughout the day from Algeciras to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta in the North African coast and Tangier, Morocco.
Locally there are leisurely walks in the National Park and to the Canyon of the Buitreras and for the more energetic longer hikes to other villages along public footpaths. Horse riding is also available.
